Starting Right Here, Happy New Year!
2019 – What a year! I’m rarely sad to say goodbye when another year passes, but the last 12 months have been so incredibly fun. Each season seemed to fly by! There is a part of me that longs to hold onto this precious time a while longer…however, I know a new year brings new joys and adventure too, so I’m looking forward with excitement!
Both Nate and I fell in love with the French Riviera this year, and we’re already talking about returning. This whirlwind adventure was truly priceless because we shared it together.
As much fun as 2019 has been, it’s also been incredibly fast paced. From changing full-time jobs to traveling through 14 countries, rest has not been a part of my year. Although that “go go go!” mentality is fine (and even fun) for a season, I know it’s not sustainable forever.
2019 marked my first visit to London. One of the many highlights had to be staying right next door to the beautiful Maddox Gallery.
The word ‘margin’ has been echoing in my head recently. Margin, defined as a border, an extra amount of something (such as time or space) that can be used if it is needed. I have definitely been living without much margin, and I’m eager to create and carve out that buffer area with room to breathe, grow and care for those around me, without being stretched past my limits.
I delighted in taking my very first river cruise in 2019. While each port was a highlight, Vienna absolutely stole my heart.
So while I reminisce and share some of the fun memories and pictures from 2019, you can plan on seeing a bit more of my local adventures here in the coming year. I live in Southern California, and I love living here…but I seem to share little of the beauty in my own backyard on this platform. I’m excited to change that in 2020.
Every year the wildflowers welcome Spring in California, and 2019’s super bloom was one for the record books. I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings!

I’m thrilled to have visited so many new places in 2019, but it was also wonderful to say hi again to some old favorites. Bristlecone Pine Forest welcomed me back with awe inspiring views.
