About Me

I grew up a Midwest girl with Broadway dreams. A competitive figure skater, singing my heart out at 16, I made my way to Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Stanislavsky School at Harvard, and American Musical and Dramatic Academy NYC. After performing in various stage and screen roles, I made my way to California, and have now called Los Angeles my home for over a decade. I saw my first Cirque du Soleil show at Dodger Stadium and my dreams of running away with the circus were born. While I currently spend most of my time teaching in SoCal, I have had the pleasure of performing in various venues throughout the U.S. as well as in Hong Kong.

I thank my dad for my deep love of animals and all things nature. I thank my mom for my spirit of adventure. And I thank my husband for doing this journey called life with me. In this blog, I hope share with you some of the stuff I like, some of the places I go, and a little bit of what I love.

Welcome to Flying Dawn Marie.

"If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast."

Psalm 139:8-9
